Turkey Trot!
The Turkey Trot is a fun, noncompetitive run/walk to promote good physical fitness and to have fun!! The Trot will be held at North Glendale during school hours. Everyone is encouraged to volunteer to cheer your child or children along the course or at the finish line!!
All students will run/walk off campus for a portion of the Turkey Trot! The Glendale Police Department will have the streets closed during the Trot. The routes are as follows:
- Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students start west on Chelsea and turn right on Venneman to the end of the street. Students will reverse direction at the end of Venneman and turn left on Chelsea and continue to the opening in the fence near the track. Students can choose to finish by completing one half lap around the track to the finish line behind school. Or students can choose to complete the route a second time by turning right on the track in front of the new playground, up the driveway between the playgrounds and right on Chelsea again.
- 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students start west on Chelsea, run past Venneman, and continue on Chelsea turning right on West Oak Drive. Students will follow West Oak to the end of the street, reverse direction and then head south on West Oak. Students will turn left on Chelsea. Students will turn right on Venneman to the end of the street, reverse direction at the end of the street heading back toward Chelsea. Students will turn left on Chelsea and continue to the opening in the fence near the track. Students can choose to finish by completing one half lap around the track to the finish line behind school. Or students can choose to complete the route a second time by turning right on the track in front of the new playground, up the driveway between the playgrounds and right on Chelsea again.
- All students still on the course at 3:00 will be instructed to return to North Glendale.
